Have you been thinking about going solar yourself? Well you can and there are so many reasons to!
Solar energy reduces your carbon footprint. Your carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide and other carbons that you produce via your consumption of fossil fuels. You can calculate your own carbon footprint here! Carbon footprints can escalate from buying products produced across the globe. (That's why buying local is important.) Most purchased goods are shipped some distance, burning non-renewable fossil fuels along the way.
Your own locally produced solar energy cuts out the need for power plants, and therefore the need for transportation of energy, where a lot of electricity is lost through resistance in electrical wires. This all adds up to solar energy being much more efficient. And, it is a completely renewable resource! The sun produces a lot of energy, and our good friends, plants (and other photosynthetic organisms) have been harnessing energy from the sun for billions of years. Thus we think it must be a good idea!
Going solar will cut your energy bills in the long run and help our planet! The best part - you can go off grid, get lost in the woods, and plug back into nature.
