Jordan received his BS in Conservation Ecology from the University of Michigan with a minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He then received his MS in Biology from Mississippi State University. His graduate work was published in the Journal of Ecology. He has worked as a Wildlife Biologist with the Bureau of Land Management since April 2018.
Shelby holds a BS in Biology and minor in Environmental Studies from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Her Master's Thesis was funded by the City of South Padre Island in Texas where she studied Coastal Management, with a focus on the city's dune restoration program. She received her MS in Biology in 2016 from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Shelby has non-profit experience through her extended volunteerism with Sea Turtle Inc. (2014-present). Shelby became a Texas Master Naturalist volunteer in 2018 and is a conservation leader in her community. She is a certified Protected Species Observer, Hunter Education Instructor, and Youth Hunt Guide.
Mercedes has a BS in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she studied abroad for six months at the University of Newcastle-Callaghan, and again for a winter term in Belize. She then earned a MS in Forestry from Mississippi State University. While in academia she received over 30 awards and scholarships. She worked for the Bureau of Land Management for a year before her current position as the Urban and Forestry Coordinator for the US Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture.
